Powermax XPR8000ESThis is the Powermax trade series model, is has all the expected basic features such as electric start, hour meter and large fuel tank and three power outlets – these aren’t IP rated and there is no RCD fitted. Wheels are the never flat type but are only plastic and not very durable. It does offer good value and is stocked exclusively at Mitre10 stores.

AEG generators are sold through Bunnings. While boasting a lot of features such as RCD cutout, pushbutton electric start, large fuel tank, wheel kit and Yamaha engine, this generator is still a cheap Chinese made unit which you may struggle to source parts for in years to come.

Powerbuilt PBG10000 Petrol Generator
Powerbuilt generators are sold through various retail outlets throughout NZ. This is the model best suited for construction sites with high output, large fuel tank, never flat wheels (only plastic though) and RCD protection. It only has one IP66 outlet socket. Powerbuilt generators are backed up with a 12 month warranty. As you are buying through retail outlets the pricing is not as competitive as buying directly from the importer.
